We are just days away from the next royal wedding and I have to say - I can't wait! I just love all things royal. It's all the traditions, formality, history, scandal, jewels, clothes and mystery. I will be one of those people who wake up at an ungodly hour to watch the ceremony, until I have to go to work of course. But there is another thing to love about the British Monarchy on days like this, they declared Wedding Day a national holiday in England. Everyone gets a paid day off in celebration of the happy couple. As part of the commonwealth shouldn't that extend to us?? I think so! I can't wait to see the dress that Kate will wear down the aisel; having seen her fashion choices over the years I am sure we will not be disappointed.

Den's 30th Birthday Party
Dennis decided that the best way to celebrate his 30th birthday was to go bowling. Seriously. So I planned a part at the local Palasad and we ate, bowled and played video games all night. It was really fun!
Here are some of the photos (once we figured out how to use the flash...)

UFE London - June 5th 2010
Den Den competed in a fitness competition yesterday here in London. He's been training for months! His diet was so boring and strict that it would test anyone. Egg white, chicken, green veg for months...not for me, but he did it!
At yesterday's show he was judged on fitness (how his muscles looked, how well proportioned he is etc...) and a "sport model look". He did great and came in 4th in his division. A girlfriend of mine from high school also competed and she looked amazing. Check them out!

Run for Retina - Check!
We did it! 10K down! And a personal best 1:02!
What a great day! The forecast was cold and rain, but no! warm and sunny! Someone was smiling down on us for sure.
It was amazing to see so many people out participating and so many watching and supporting. I heard the event raised over $300,00 - WOW! Great stuff. I'll be joining up again next year.

This run is sponsored by the Running Room, which I have been a member since last year when I started to run with their Learn to Run program. (What a great program by the way...!) So on Sunday I will be joining the masses in support of this great cause! If you would like to sponsor me, just click on the Run for Retina link below and follow the Running Room logo. All you need is my name :)Run for Retina

Toronto Birthday Party 2010!
On Saturday Vic, Den and I went down to Toronto to celebrate several February birthdays of our friends - and ours. We had a great time! Our friend Fred hosted everyone at his place first then we headed out to Queen West area and hit a few bars down that way. It was so nice to see old friends, catch up and do something different. Great times!

MAC GRAHAM LIVE!

Last night I also went to see an old friend perform live here in London. And wow! what an amazing show Mark (Mac Graham) put on! He sang some new material from his upcoming record Midnight and of course, he played some old favourites as well. I've been fortunate enough to have known Mark for some time now and seen him perform live quite a few times. We were so impressed by his new songs; and, what makes his music great is that Mark and his brothers work together to create what they play. Talented family! By the sounds of his new music it's only a matter of time before hits it big and I'll be able to say "I knew that guy once". Hopefully he won't forget the little people when he becomes a huge star :)
I'm not sure when his new album will actually be released, but stay tuned I'll post the date when I know.

Red Bull Crashed Ice 2010

Last night I went to the London qualifier for 2010 Red Bull Crashed Ice. I went for a couple of reasons. One to visit with old colleagues and friends and second to reminisce about past good times. I helped organize the first Red Bull Crashed Ice qualifier in London when I worked for RB. The event has come a long way since that first event. I miss the fun I used to have working for Red Bull - crazy brand!
Last night 200 hopefuls turned up to try their best at making one of the top 3 times of the night in order to qualify for the big event in Quebec City in March. The event is an amazing spectacle and I would recommend anyone to go and experience it for themselves if they have the opportunity. Red Bull never disappoints!

Megan Young's Wedding
On Somerset, the street I grew up on, I hung around with the Young family. Over the years Stew, Andy and Megan have been as close as family to my family. This past Saturday little Megan got married! I spent most of the night feeling quite old actually. Megan, whom I have consisted a little sister all of these years was getting married! Her husband, Scott is lovely and I am so happy for both of them. It was a fantastic wedding and Megan looked gorgeous. One of the funnier moments of the wedding was their cake topper - check it out! It got a lot of laughs!

Eco-Care 2008

Yesterday and today I attended a conference hosted by London Health Sciences Centre called Eco-Care 2008. LHSC is trying to find ways to reduce their impact on the planet - what a cool concept eh? I think it is fantastic that the organization is supporting this effort to wholeheartedly. There were vendors of the hospital (me included) and just over a hundred attendees from different health care related facilities around the country. It was so heart warming to see so many people taking the issue of our environment so seriously.
Last night as part of the conference there was a gala dinner at Museum London, with Justin Trudeau as the key note speaker. I went excited to hear Justin speak on his views on environment and the inevitable political topics that were raised. Justin was charming, funny and was able to say the right things. He was very honest and spoke with passion and I think my favourite part of the evening was when Justin proclaimed to the crowd that he has so much to learn and many years to until he would think himself in a position to even think of leading the Liberal party, nevermind the Country. I look forward to watching his career unfold!
