Foodies Beware!

I was sent a website this week hosted by the London and Middlesex Health unit. The website discloses the results of food inspections from local restaurants that are audited for health violations. If you eat out in London, it may be a good idea to check out the list before you head out for your next meal... I sure will.!

Check out the Glossary of Terms as well:
Critical Infraction: Infractions that have the potential to lead to foodborne illness.

Yiks! Food Inspection site

Toronto Birthday Party 2010!

On Saturday Vic, Den and I went down to Toronto to celebrate several February birthdays of our friends - and ours. We had a great time! Our friend Fred hosted everyone at his place first then we headed out to Queen West area and hit a few bars down that way. It was so nice to see old friends, catch up and do something different. Great times!

Happy Birthday Fred! Thanks for having us!

Happy Valentine's Day

30

On Feb. 8th I turned 30. Now this seems to be a big step for some people; now that I've lived through it, I agree. Turning a year older while you're still in your twenties - no big deal. But when you turn a new decade you start evaluating things. I'm one of those people who had a list of things I wanted to do before 30. Well, looking at that list, now that I'm 30 - disappointing. So what to do? Bump all those things I didn't do to the To Dos before 40 list? Or make a new list entirely? I think now that I am thirty and feel like I should be more mature, more accomplished, more together - while waiting for these things I will start my new list:

Not in any particular order:

THINGS TO DO IN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS
- Run a half marathon
- Go on a real vacation - somewhere I've never been before
- Learn how to invest
- Have a better attitude
- Yoga!
- Be patient
- Be healthier - holistically

THINGS TO DO BEFORE 40
- Climb Kilimanjaro
- Visit Asia
- Learn Korean
- Have a family
- Career Success

Let's get to work.

MAC GRAHAM LIVE!

Last night I also went to see an old friend perform live here in London. And wow! what an amazing show Mark (Mac Graham) put on! He sang some new material from his upcoming record Midnight and of course, he played some old favourites as well. I've been fortunate enough to have known Mark for some time now and seen him perform live quite a few times. We were so impressed by his new songs; and, what makes his music great is that Mark and his brothers work together to create what they play. Talented family! By the sounds of his new music it's only a matter of time before hits it big and I'll be able to say "I knew that guy once". Hopefully he won't forget the little people when he becomes a huge star :)

I'm not sure when his new album will actually be released, but stay tuned I'll post the date when I know.

Red Bull Crashed Ice 2010

Last night I went to the London qualifier for 2010 Red Bull Crashed Ice. I went for a couple of reasons. One to visit with old colleagues and friends and second to reminisce about past good times. I helped organize the first Red Bull Crashed Ice qualifier in London when I worked for RB. The event has come a long way since that first event. I miss the fun I used to have working for Red Bull - crazy brand!

Last night 200 hopefuls turned up to try their best at making one of the top 3 times of the night in order to qualify for the big event in Quebec City in March. The event is an amazing spectacle and I would recommend anyone to go and experience it for themselves if they have the opportunity. Red Bull never disappoints!

Great people, great company, great event. Check it out! Red Bull Crashed Ice
