Christmas Miracle
It's a good thing that I posted my Christmas Wish List on my blog this year because it totally worked! I got the digital camera that I have been lusting after! Now we can all look forward to more pictures on my blog and more importantly, ones I take myself! I'm super excited to get going with me new PINK! camera!
Thanks Santa... now that I know this wishing thing works... I wish for a Volvo SUV!

Day time tv!
I took Thursday and Friday off this week and re-found my love of daytime TV! I watched Regis and Kelly and Ellen - so great!! Ellen is hilarious! and so generous. She was doing the 12 Days of Christmas. She gave away a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines to everyone in the audience, plus two digital cameras and a bunch of other stuff. Amazing! To have been part of that audience!
And on Regis and Kelly, well Regis isn't on at the moment; he had some sort of surgery and is recovering at home but it is Kelly and her husband and it's still just as great. And what was even more great was not only did I watch Kelly (love her) but Sarah Jessica Parker was on as a guest and she is my #1 favourite female celebrity.
Love, daytime TV!

Hopeless optimist
Again this year I have bought tickets for the hospital charity lottery. Now yes, this in and of itself is a good cause and worthy of supporting; however, I would by lying if this is why I buy the tickets each year. I am only by default contributing to charity while truly holding out for the big prize. I am sure I'm not alone in this feeling and that there are many of us who support the event as a side note to winning the big money! I never said I was noble.
With that said, the charity (or Karma) knows of my selfish motives and repays me by not even letting me win a measly gift certificate from Shoppers each year. Year after year nothing.
Perhaps it is what I deserve. In any case....they are almost sold out - so if you want your big chance to win, ahem, I mean support the local London hospitals then click here Millionaire Lottery.

I heart Christian Louboutin
I had a holiday dinner with my girl friends tonight and we got talking about Louboutin's - at what respectable good girls night dinner does the conversation not lead to shoes? I thought I would show case a few of my favourites. If you didn't know the genius of Christian Louboutin before now, here is a quick education. But be warned, you will be hooked.
Proceed with caution...prolonged browsing may lead to a purchase which may lead to being broke.
Bedazzle! Love love love these...
Classic beauties...I would never take these off... sigh
So sophisticatedly gorgeous!

The year ahead 2010
According to the stars, here is what the year ahead has in store for me...
After the last few hectic years, most Aquarians feel like checking into an asylum or a monastery. Not so fast, my fastidious friend. Although this year it may be a bit tricky finding your bearings, this is a setup of cosmic proportions and in January, Jupiter, the planet of luck and good fortune, will lend you his energy for the next 12 months. Yes, with a little tact, grace and your famous diplomacy skills, by the end of this year, you will have your life back on track.
Although anyone who challenges your authority or expertise tends to rile your temper, one of your 2009 challenges will be to keep your intuition tuned in and at times play the game by someone else's rules. And if you take a look at the big picture and understand exactly what is at stake, you will know that this is a very small sacrifice to make. Your first test will be during the January Aquarian eclipse.
Restrictive Saturn will add new responsibilities that may feel limiting but in reality are designed to help you redefine your hopes, dreams and wishes. With this combination of visionary and stabilizing star power, you can reinvent your career or even fall in love. And one of these new responsibilities could turn into a job, promotion or life-long passion.
Take advantage of even the smallest opportunity or idea and follow through. This year Gordon Parks' words should sum up your attitude: "The guy who takes a chance, who walks the line between the known and unknown, who is unafraid of failure, will succeed."
2009 Aquarius Love Match: Serious love matches become more fun, loving and solid, but don't forget that a marriage is like another job and takes attention and work to succeed.

When the world is against you
Do you, some days, feel like everything is against you? This may seem like a very self-centred way of thinking because one might say how can everything be about you; however, isn't everything in your life mostly about you? Some days, every one yells at you, everything you did is wrong, the things you thought you did well - you didn't, no matter how hard you try- you fail and inevitably that big presentation you spent the last two days preparing was lost into your computer abyss.
What to do? When this is how I feel, and today is a good example, I like think...what would Carrie Bradshaw do? And I think she would tell me, Susie, put on your best pink tutu taffeta dress, the most expensive shoes you've ever bought (for her would be Manolo, for me would be Payless) or the biggest flower accessory you can find and hit the town.
I may not be able to hit the town tonight (because there is big presentation to be re-built), but there is a lesson to be learned by Carrie - no matter how life treats you, how bad you think your day is, how you think you have it hardest in this world - there is always tomorrow - and a new outfit and a Manhattan. Cheers!
I heart SJP.

Winter Wimp = Spin Class!
Now that I have officially wimped out on winter running I thought I should pick up a new cardio sport to tie me over until I get un-wimpy in the spring. So, last Saturday I took my second spin class in life. And let me tell you, this one was better than my first, almost of throw-up, experience. I actually really enjoyed it! You have to go at your own pace to start that's for sure, but what a great work out. I really felt like I worked out hard. And even when you cheat a little to catch your breath, you're still working...bonus! I very much recommend spin for those winter wimps like me who can't get motivated to run in zero to minus degrees outside. (who can blame us though right? - really!)

Old Methods
I suffer from terrible headaches and migraines. So, my new plan of attack to combat these annoying episodes is acupuncture. I have only gone a few times now, but I have high hopes. So far I don't feel very different; but, with that said, I have only had one really bad headache since I started going two weeks ago and that's a change.
According to Wikipedia, the earliest written record of acupuncture is the Chinese text Shiji (史記, English: Records of the Grand Historian) with elaboration of its history in the second century BCE medical text Huangdi Neijing. I figure something that's been used for so long and has a good reputation for healing must be worth a try!

Tiger Woods
Is anyone else really sick of hearing about Tiger Woods and his many indiscretions? I really can't understand the obsession with it by the media. Is it really anyone's business how he chooses to live his life? People do sketchy things all the time, the point is it's their choice. Just because he is sponsored by Gatorade, Nike, AT&T and whoever else, what does it matter how he carriers on in his personal life. He is sponsored and famous for his talent for playing golf, which I think no one can deny that talent, not for his stellar moral values. So long as he keeps playing golf well while drinking a Gatorade, wearing a Nike shirt and talking on his AT&T cell phone - who cares!
